About Us
Wunderbar Arabians has been active in the breeding, training and showing of Arabian horses since 1966. We have founded our breeding program on notable Domestic and Polish lines, and a simple philosophy dedicated to excellence. These horses boast exceptional pedigrees; their quality will fit perfectly into a portfolio, show-string or broodmare band. As a result of this philosophy, and our years of diligent work, the pastures of Wunderbar are graced by some of North America's loveliest Arabian horses. These are outstanding individuals, each with the potential to make the bright future of the Arabian industry even brighter. Involvement with the Arabian horse is an attractive pursuit as an extremely rewarding avenue for family fun. Our personal attention to the farm assures the continued success and prominence in the industry. After a three-year rest from the Arabian Horse Show ring our return and debut in 1999 resulted in great success. This success has continued on and the information set forward here will substantiate that our breeding program is a success! The horse that started it all for us here at Wunderbar was a great stallion by the name of Wildwood Kochar, pictured here, with the original founders of Wunderbar Arabians, Helen and Jake Friesen. Wildwood Kochar was a horse that was "ahead of his time", this only to be discovered after his death. The year 2006 has been very exciting for us as we have waited a number of years to get back into the performance ring. We carefully navigated these past breeding seasons to produce individuals both halter and performance-minded. Continuing to breed conformationally sound horses with Arabian “type” has been our goal, while keeping in mind that athleticism is paramount. It has been difficult waiting for these young horses to come of age and to be patient as their training unfolded. This year our daughter Maegan and employee Ashley David achieved success and eyes were opened as Wunderbar made its debut in the performance ring after many years of absence. The wait was well worth it with winning results in the divisions of Hunter Pleasure, Western Pleasure, and Country English Pleasure, including several Championships. Having accomplished our goal to present well-trained, mannered horses of quality in their respective divisions, we now look forward to taking these individuals to a higher level next season, starting at Scottsdale in February. Take a look at our horses and see the consistent show records of each of them. Take a look at the foals we are expecting, take a look at what we have done. You will have to see the consistency of beauty and type. Thank you for taking the time to view our website. The Friesens |
